Je viens de vous présenter le jeu de cartes Munchkin et je continue mon exploration de l’univers créé par Steve Jackson Games. Aujourd’hui je vais essayer de centraliser toutes les extensions Munchkin existantes au sein d’un même article. Il y en a pas mal, donc si j’en ai oubliées n’hésitez pas à me le faire savoir 😉
Ce qui est bien avec Munchkin c’est qu’il y en a vraiment pour tout le monde. L’éditeur garde sa marque de fabrique dans chaque set (les visuels cartoon de John Kovalic sont facilement reconnaissables), mais n’hésite pas à faire des collaborations ou détourner des licences connues. Nous avons en effet eu droit à de nombreux crossovers au fil des années (Warhammer, Marvel, DC Comics, Conan le Barbare, Walking Dead, Adventure Time …) ou des clins d’oeil à Jurassic Park, Mortal Kombat, etc.
Je vous classe tout cela par ordre chronologique et en séparant les « core set » (boites principales), des extensions, des mini-extensions et des accessoires. Entre parenthèses je vous indique le cycle auquel l’extension Munchkin appartient : Fantasy, Fu, Star, Bites, Super, Cthulhu, Impossible, Apocalypse, Western, Pirates, etc.

Accessoires Munchkin
Une série de 25 comics sont parus chaque mois entre janvier 2015 et janvier 2017. Écrits en majorité par Andrew Hackard et illustrés par Len Peralta et Phil Murphy, ils ont ensuite étés regroupés en 6 Volumes de 112 pages.
En dehors de cela il existe des centaines (milliers ?) de produits autour de la licence : cartes promo et protections, séries de dés, boites de rangement, tapis de jeu, vêtements, peluches, signets pour livres et même agenda ou livre de coloriage. Steve Jackson Games sait profiter de l’opportunité.
Bref il s’agit d’un jeu de cartes parmi les plus connus, les plus reconnaissables, les plus amusants et les plus rentables en termes de merchandising. Et vous connaissez maintenant toutes les extensions Munchkin existantes. Un pilier de l’univers Cartes !
